You may be used to seeing people listen to iPods on the train. You may even use one yourself in the gym or while walking the dog. However, the rise of the iPod has prompted generations of developers - and creative end-users - to exploit possibilities other than simply listening to music or watching videos. To accommodate WCL students’ busy schedules, the school makes virtually every event available via podcast.

WCL is also sensitive to the needs of those students for whom English is not their first language. Podcast software allows the listener to slow down playback of the audio, making it easier for the speaker to be understood. Also, classes will be podcast for students who are unable to attend due to illness, family emergency or other excusable absence. Apple Takes iTunes, Podcasts to School

Having conquered the digital music and video industries, Apple has set its sights on a new market that should be familiar to the company: education. Apple has introduced "iTunes U," a new service that makes course lectures and materials available through the iTunes software. Over the past year, Apple has run a pilot program with six universities across the United States.
