QEP is a quality enhancement program that all institutions of higher education are developing as a requirement for the re-affirmation of accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Sherman College’s QEP is titled, Performance Enhancement Modules: Turning Knowledge into Performance. The primary goal and focus of the QEP is to establish a supplemental learning environment that provides engaging, creative and effective learning opportunities for students in the doctor of chiropractic degree program. To achieve this, the college will develop and implement a variety of learning modules, known as “performance enhancement modules,” that provide another mode of learning beyond the classroom. These modules will support student learning by facilitating students’ integration of acquired knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA’s) and, where relevant, provide opportunities for practical application of KSA’s that are critical to student success as they progress through the doctor of chiropractic program.
The SACS On-site Review Team will be on our campus April 10-12, 2007 to evaluate every component of our QEP. One of the areas they will be looking at is to make certain that the entire campus community knows exactly what the QEP is and how it will effect the students. March will find the campus in a massive “QEP Awareness Program.” Without spilling the beans I want to tell you that learning about our QEP will be fun, informative and at times down right zany and silly. By the time April 10, rolls around you will know all you need to know about how the Performance Enhancement Modules will have a positive impact on student learning. GET READY, THE FUN IS ABOUT TO BEGIN!!
